GETTING TO SEVASTOPOL
You can get Sevastopol from Simferopol by train, bus or a
car. The train is very cheap but would be better avoid it - it will take you at least 2.5
hours. The bus is better, you will find a bus station on the square of railway station.
The cost for about $2-3 and time about 2 hours. Taxi could cost $20-50 depends from a
season and your luck. You can also get Sevastopol from Odessa by boat in Summer time.
If you go from Simferopol to Sevastopol by a car would be nice to visit
Bahchisaray on the way. There are two possibility to get Sevastopol from Bahchisaray.
First is usual, direct way and another through several small villages. Second way is
longer for about 30 km but you will past some nice places and could stop near by
Mangup-Kale cave town for a short look. It's also nice to visit a private tatar cafe
beside Mangup-Kale where you can try really best in Crimea Tatar food.
Getting to Sevastopol from Yalta. It's very easy because there is only o ne
road between the cities. Take a bus or a microbus from the bus station of Yalta. A bus
cost about $2, a microbus - $3-4 It will take you 2.5 hours by bus and 1.5 hours by
microbus. If you decide go to Sevastopol by car would be nice to visit Foros church -
small nice building which is on a top of a mountin. Also would be interesting to stop for
a few minutes on Laspy pass - beautiful view. There are several Tatar cafe on Laspy pass
but would be better to avoid to use them - a food is not best but prices are high. If you
are hungry, would be better to stop 6 km before Laspy - you will see a restaurant on the
left side of the road. They cook better, a little bit cheaper and (most important) you
will see beautiful sea-view from this caffee.
If you have enough time you can also visit Balaklava which is just before Sevastopol, but
you should reserve at least 1.5 hours for the visit. |
