The most main roads in Crimea gathered in Simferopol from different directions. But there is one road which goes along the Sea cost from Sevastopol to Sudak through Yalta and Alushta.
With no doubts it is most beautiful and impressive road and you should not miss it on your trip around Crimea.

Sevastopol - Yalta
Let's say it starts from Sapun mountain beside Sevastopol. There is Diorama and memorial place about great battle between German and Soviet armies on May 7, 1994. There is also exhibition of different kinds of weapon, tanks, artillery, military ships. Look around from the lookout point: you will see great view, Genova's fortress Chembalo in Balaklava on the right, and "Valley of death" straight down. It's exactly place of "Charge of the light brigade" - the most famous event from the time of Crimean war (1854-55).
The road goes downhill and after the traffic circle you will see a sign: "Yalta". In about one km you will see road and sign to Balaklava turning right. The first view-point will be near Laspy bay. You will definitely notice many small buildings, a parking lot, a chapel and much activity there. It is popular point for people from Sevastopol to celebrate a wedding party. Every Friday and Saturday, afternoon people
come, drink a champagne, greet the brides etc. There are several restaurants and Tatars will noisy try to catch you for a lunch. Would be better avoid this place: the food is not excellent, expensive and there is no sea-view from the restaurants. Be patent and stop for a lunch in 15 minutes further if you want. After this stop you will see the Black sea during all your way. The road is beautiful in any time of year, different colors, different landscapes.
Very soon, after T-crossing to Laspy bay, you will see other Tatar restaurant on right side.
The prices there are also pretty high but the food is good and, the most important: you can be having your lunch and looking at the sea and Aya-cape. A red iron tower ahead set up on the southern point of Crimea peninsula - Sarich cape. The road turns left after it. It is a popular place for the rock-climbers - it's possible to see
them there pretty often.
The road goes further through empty part of Crimea. From early Soviet time this area was chooses by government for Summer residences. It is why those few towns didn't develop and
habitants suppose to serve the residences and sanatoriums. The first really town is Foros. This town is well known as a place where President of Soviet Union was captured on August 19, 1991. There is a small beautiful Russian church on a top of  high rock above the town, people call it Foros's church. You should definitely get up on the rock to visit the church, it worth such a short ride.
Next nice stop id on the cat mountain, above Simeiz town. There is a small parking place where local people sell Yalta's onions and Crimean wine. To the right side of the spot you will see Katsivelly town with an Aquapark which was open in 2001. If you hike up to the hill
to the left, you will see beautiful view of the coast and Ay-Perty mountain.
The town below the Cat mountain is Simeiz, one from the most cosy and romantic places of Crimea. The town has many of restaurants, cafes, two private hotels, an old park and nice beaches.
Right behind Simeiz the town Alupka, where Vorontsov's palace is.
Don't forget look at Ay-Perty mountain when you will pass Alupka - just amazing view! :-)
But if you want to get to the top of Ay-Petry by cable-car, you should turn right to Mishor in 6 km after Alupka.
You can get Yalta from Mishor by old road which goes close to the shore. Swallow nest and
Livadia are on that road.
But if you'll use the highway after the turn to Mishor, you will pass next big turn to Gaspra (shortest way to get Swallow nest from the highway) and see the last small place with a sign "Yalta". Stop there for a few minutes and enjoy the nice view.

Yalta - Alushta

Just you left Yalta you will see "Massandra" road sign. If you didn't visit this place during your stay in Yalta, try to find an hour and stop there for testing the nice Crimean wines. It's really the most famous winery in Crimea. there is a testing hall where you can try several different kinds of wine and then buy your favorite in a shop.
Nikita is next town with big and nice botanical garden. You can enjoy look at flowers and tropical trees in any time of year.
When you'll see "Ay-Danil" road sign be careful and don't miss a small spot on right side of  the road. It's very possible there will be a seller of Yalta's onion on the spot, as a  land-mark. :-) Turn right and stop - you will see great view to Gurzuf town and Bear mountain.
There is nothing really special further until Alushta.

Alushta - Sudak

It's old, curve road goes through the hills up and down. You will see the Black sea during all way to Sudak and there are some really nice spots to stop and enjoy beautiful view. The first small towns after Alushta will be Malorechenskoe and Solnechnogorsk beside each other.
They are popular resort places for people who can't afford such expensive place like Yalta.
There are many people who do camping right on a beach, many people who rent an apartment or
just a room. Accommodation is pretty cheap but with very basic conditions, very close to camping. It's a good place to stop and swim a little bit on the way to Sudak. You can easy find a cafe, small market.
There is other small village Generalskoe 8 km North from Solnechnogorsk. If you have 3-4   spare hours, would be nice to go there. After 2 km easy hiking along a trail you can enjoy  nice Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall.
When you'll past Malorechenskoe you will see a light house a front of your car up on a hill. Don't pass it but stop and look around: if the weather is good you can see half of Crimea's cost from the spot. You will see the Bear mountain on the right and Meganom cape on the left.
Ribachie town is next. A long-long beach nearby road, some cafes and market. The same as in Solnechnogorsk.
Morskoe is a town the same as Ribachie: a long beach, small town.
When you'll get Veseloe, the town on the road, there is nothing what can attract you. But turn right in the town and go toward the Sea 7 km. You will get to the nice bay with very good beach. Park the car there and go to hike toward Sudak. It is definitely one from most amazing places in Crimea! You will not regret to spend 3,4,5 or more hours just hiking and  looking around.
More 15-25 minutes and you'll get Sudak.
